Panel / Sheet Lifters Turning Cooler Counter Tops Lifting for Inspection and Assembly

Requirement

During the cooler manufacturing process, counter tops go through a foam injection insulation process. After the foam is injected, the countertops need to be lifted and pitched 180° for cleaning and inspection, then pitched back 90° or 180° for installation (depending upon model of cooler). These panels can range up to 12 feet long and weigh over 200 pounds. This process was being performed manually with both risk of operator injuries and damage to the product.

Solution

A vacuum handling system was provided with a simple jib crane and hoist system. The panel lifters are designed to lift and pitch the panel, sheet or sheet metal to any desired position up to 180˚.
