Rigid Mast Multiple Roll Handling Manipulator

REQUIREMENT:
A Tennessee packaging manufacturer had been handling 100# rolls by hand, manually removing them from a pallet while vertical (eye to the sky) and loading them horizontally onto a spindle (multiple rolls on a single spindle). This process was causing a high number of work related injuries and Workmen’s Comp claims.
SOLUTION:
Cynergy designed a free standing work cell crane system utilizing a rigid mast manipulator with gripper end tooling designed to continuously rotate 360°. Since the operators needed to load multiple rolls on a single spindle, the system was designed to handle up to five rolls simultaneously, thus eliminating the manual lifting/moving hazard, eliminated the need for a second operator and improving productivity. The customer estimated the system provided a 6-month return on investment, plus the immediate elimination of the work related injury risk!
