Panel Lifter Turning Cooler Counter Tops
Lifting for Inspection and Assembly
Cynergy Ergonomics Case Study

REQUIREMENT:

During the cooler manufacturing process, counter tops go through a foam injection insulation process. After the foam is injected, the countertops need to be lifted and rotated 180° for cleaning and inspection, then rotated back 90° or 180° for installation (depending upon the model). These panels can range up to 12 feet long and weigh over 200 pounds. This process was being performed manually with both risk of operator injuries and damage to the product.

SOLUTION:

A vacuum based below-the-hook panel rotating and manipulating device was provided with a simple jib crane and hoist system. The tooling is designed to lift and rotate the panels to any desired position up to 180˚.
